No, attorneys are probably not even aware of the national status and would not be familiar with this process.

All that is needed is for you to submit your Affidavit of Citizenship Evidence to the U.S. Secretary of State. We recommend that you follow the first three steps to complete the process. (affidavit, notices, and renew your passport).
