Sovereign Citizen

A sovereign citizen is a person who believes they are not subject to the laws and authority of the government, often based on their interpretation of legal or historical documents. They may refuse to comply with laws, pay taxes, or recognize the legitimacy of government institutions. Sovereign citizens often engage in legal and political activism to assert their beliefs and challenge government authority.

PLEASE NOTE
A national is NOT the same as a sovereign citizen. Sovereign citizen is a nonstatutory term that was created by government agencies and the media. A national never uses this term to describe their political status.
