The first steps to freedom:

True emancipation from the enslavement of U.S. citizenship can be achieved by a very simple legal, lawful remedy.

You simply need to make the choice to officially opt out—it is your choice, and it cannot be taken from you. It is essential for each of us to understand the fundamental principles of national status and to stop being misled by false narratives.

We recommend familiarizing yourself with the history and principles of the national status before taking your first steps toward liberation. The National Status Academy offers free courses designed to provide a clear understanding of this history. By visiting our website, you have already made the conscious decision to question government narratives—demonstrating that you are ready to begin your path toward freedom.

Required Foundational Steps

1. Affidavit of Citizenship Evidence
2. Lawful, Legal Notices to Agencies
3. Renew or Apply for a New Passport

Completing these three steps may take anywhere from six months to a year, depending on the time you are able to dedicate. Progress will vary for each individual. Once these foundational steps are complete, you will be equipped to safeguard your freedom. From there, you can pursue additional objectives such as withdrawing from the tax system, establishing full ownership of your land, and living in alignment with natural law rather than the constraints of man-made laws, regulations, and permits that govern U.S. citizens.

This flowchart will help you see the relation of different statuses to the national status. Download this chart and keep it handy as you begin to build upon your knowledge of the statuses.

In order to track your progress effectively, we've designed a checklist to help you complete the neccessary steps in the proper order. Download your copy and get started today.

Your political status is a choice only you can make; which one will you choose?
  • The U.S. Department of State handles citizenship, as they are the government agency that manages citizenship and passports.
  • Putting the U.S. Department of State on notice is critical, as they have the highest government jurisdiction over citizenship.
  • The U.S. Department of State cannot formally rebut your affidavit with anything other than their own affidavit.
  • It will be up to you to gain the necessary knowledge of the history and concepts important to defending your freedom. The time and effort needed to understand what it means to be a national will vary from person to person and is dependent upon your level of motivation and ability to overcome a lifetime of indoctrination.

The Affidavit of Citizenship Evidence

The first step is preparing, notarizing, and mailing the affidavit. Once the affidavit has been submitted, formally declaring that you are no longer a U.S. citizen, you will be recognized as a national.

David: thank you and Kay? for your superlative website! It is fabulous!; finally I am preparing to file a ROE. Returning to work in 3 weeks, I am retired (SSecurity). I believe I have understood that should I seek a refund from the Fed, I file 1040 NR and possibly a Schedule NEC? Didn't have much or a refund over last 3 years, so frankly I don't care to file..Also I still must file to my state if I have interest or dividends? and not filing for federal tax and income reporting? Am I correct?

Hi Jay. Thanks for your kind comments. I only can confirm getting back withholdings for 2023 where I wasn't amending a previous return. Not sure what an NEC form is. But from what I understand the state taxes are based off of the federal taxes so there's nothing to file with the state if you don't file federal any longer.
