Strawman
A fallacious argumentative tactic where someone misrepresents, exaggerates, or distorts an opponent’s position, claim, or argument, making it easier to attack and refute. This tactic involves setting up a weak or imaginary opposition (the “strawman”) to be easily confuted, rather than addressing the actual argument or position being debated.
