I am a National and have been since 2024. IRS contunues to send me notices requesting that I send them a 1040 for 2024 tax return.I have sent them originally a 1040NR with copies of my "Affidavit of Citizenship Evidence" and "Notice of Revocation of Election." I resent it once and IRS sent me another notice for the same thing. I wonder if I am not sending the right information. Please help. Thank you. D Kent

Did you: 1) Send US SOS an Affidavit of Citizenship Evidence 2) Noticed the IRS with copy of your affidavit 3) Submitted an ROE to the IRS. 4) Submitted docs to your employer. I know you mentioned you've done this, but I believe the order in which do these steps can make a difference. Have you looked at your IRS filing transcripts to see what is documented in your IRS administrative file? Also, you may want to send them an IRS form 15103.

    Hello - I am currently a National.

Question: when I move to a new state and if I register for a driver license, will that contract me back to the status of U.S. Citizen? If yes, can I just send new status correction paperwork and return my status to National?

    Thank you!

No, it will not contract you back to the status of a U.S. Citizen, but make sure you provide the drivers license agency a copy of your affidavit and request that they file it in your administrative record. Don't forget to have the registration person initial and date it, then give you back an initialed copy of what they're going to file.
